Online Australian fashion retailer, The Iconic, has launched an exclusive PETA-approved, vegan footwear capsule collection under its house brand Atmos&Here.

The PETA-approval of the line means that the footwear doesn't use any animal materials and instead utilises innovative materials. The line will sit under The Iconic's recently launched Considered edit, which allows consumers to shop by their values by filtering sustainable products for purchase.

Spokesperson for PETA Australia Emily Rice, said that The Iconic joins thousands of others responding to the demand for vegan fashion.

"The demand for ethical and sustainable fashion continues to grow year-on-year and we are incredibly excited to welcome The Iconic in joining more than 1,000 companies globally using the PETA-approved Vegan logo.

"From Sydney to Paris, brands are proving you can be both animal-friendly and fashion-forward. The number of fashion leaders responding to compassionate consumer demand will only continue to climb as more and more businesses respond to the skyrocketing demand for cruelty-free fashion," she said.

According to Google Trends, Australians search the word 'vegan' more than any other country, while nine out of 10 Gen Z consumers believe that companies have a responsibility to address environmental and social issues.

The Iconic's head of sustainability and ethical sourcing Jaana Quaintance-James said that the line firms the retailer's stance on social and environmental issues.

"As part of our commitment to social and environmental responsibility, we are thrilled to welcome Atmos&Here’s PETA-approved vegan capsule exclusively to The Iconic.

"We know our customers are increasingly seeking out conscious style solutions and we want to empower them to do so by offering access to a wide and accessible assortment, enabling them to easily shop by their personal sustainable and ethical values."

The range is available now and retails from $59.95 to $99.95.
