RCG Corporation, parent company of The Athlete's Foot, is planning a three-hour delivery service using its network of stores.

The group plans to roll out the initiative this financial year, with its footprint of 430 sites set to act as distribution missives.

RCG operates a number of footwear brands and retailers including Vans, Dr Martens, Platypus, Merrell and recently acquired Hype DC.

Investment in its digital arm will aim to increase online sales to 15% of total sales within three years.

Group sales have risen 44% to $636 million for the year to July 2.

While underlying profit has risen 21% to $39.9 million, net profit slumped 2.6% to $29 million.

This was due to a $9.7 million write-down of Hype DC following a slump in earnings.

The group posted an increase in underlying earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) for the year to July 2.

It rose 30% on the prior year to $78.3 million.
