Social media platform, Instagram, has upgraded its shopping service, allowing users to shop and checkout entirely within the app.
Currently in closed beta mode for businesses, 'Checkout on Instagram' is currently only available to consumers in the US, however, it is expected the feature will roll-out globally in the coming months.
Instead of leaving the app to complete a purchase, consumers will be able to complete their shopping inside Instagram, by simply entering their preferred options – for example size and colour – and then their name, email, billing information and shipping address.
This information is then securely saved for all recurring purchases, making the shopping experience seamless.
The upgrade also means that shoppers will be able to view shipping and delivery details within Instagram.
Checkout on Instagram was announced on 19 March.
