Australian eyewear retailer, Specsavers, has launched its Young Innovator Design Competition, as part of its sponsorship of the upcoming Student Collections Runway at Melbourne Fashion Week.

Competition entrants will design a new eyewear collection, which can be either optical or sunglasses, which encourage the wearers to express their individuality.

Entrants are encouraged to create stylish but wearable designs and up to three young designers will receive a financial reward and mentorship, as well as the opportunity to have designs showcased and sold in-store and online.

The winners will be announced on stage at Melbourne Fashion Week on September 1.
