Westfield's latest redevelopment

Westfield Chermside has commenced a $355 million redevelopment headed by parent company Scentre Group.

The rejuvination will include the introduction of five international retailers as well as broadening the centre's current fashion offering.

At this stage no further details regarding which brands will join its current portfolio have been revealed by the company.

It will also undergo expansion by adding 26,000 sqm of retail space to a total size of 156,643 sqm upon completion.

Westfield Chermside's redevelopment follows strong operational results divulged by the company.

Over the past 12 months Scentre Group has reported that comparable speciality sales in its Australia grew 5.3% with average annual specialty sales totalling $10,826 per sqm.

Fashion, footwear and jewellery are among the top performing catergories for sales performance.
