Cloud-based POS software Vend and mobile payment company Square have officially launched its POS and payments integration partnership in Australia.
The collaboration, which launched in the US late last year, brings the two systems together to deliver more options for advanced retailers, those with multiple locations, and complex operations.
Vend CEO Alex Fala said that retailers are now under increased pressure to perform due to the growth of online competitors, as well as the soon-to-be arrival of Amazon in Australia.
"Australian retailers are under increasing threat, especially with online competitors like Amazon launching into the market and putting more pressure on local stores.
"In order to compete they need access to the world’s best tools."
Vend offers POS and retailer management software, while Square specialises in contactless payment systems.
