Ximivogue has issued a full recall for nine of its sunglasses products sold at its store in Palmerston, Northern Territory.

The recall, issued by the Australian competition and consumer commission (ACCC) comes after it was revealed that the products failed to appropriately identify lens category, description or compliance information.

The affected products were sold between the months of October 2017 through to May 2018.

The statement from the ACCC said that the products failed to inform consumers about the level of protection that the sunglasses provide and recommended that customers immediately return the products for a full refund.

“Consumers need to be informed through labelling what level of protection the sunglasses provide.

“The incorrect level of protection can result in vision impairment or exposure to very high levels of sunlight.

“Customers who have purchased an affected product during the specified period should cease using the product immediately and return for a full refund only to Ximi Vogue shop gateway shopping centre, Palmerston.”
