It all started on April 01 with an April Fool's joke.

VB and Volley fooled Aussies into thinking that a free pair of 'VB Volleys' would be given out for every case of the beer bought across Australia, claiming that the, "Ultimate Shoey does exist!"

And of course, that didn't happen.

However, the response to the collaboration between the two brands was so positive, that they quit the tricking to come together to create the shoe.

"This is no joke though...make it happen Volley Australia," a commenter wrote on Volley's April Fool's Instagram post, which has clocked up over 4000 likes and more than 650 comments.

And now, it's here.

The VB Volley is made on Volley's Heritage High silhouette and features durable ribbed canvas upper, custom metal eyelets and is 100% animal free.

The sneaker features the original Volley rubber sole design and pays homage to the founder of VB, with Thomas Aitken’s signature placed on the side of the shoe.

Speaking on the partnership, VB marketing director Hayden Turner said that the brand was thrilled to team up with another well-loved Australian brand.

"We are excited to be working with an iconic brand in Australia like Volley.

"When we first saw Volley’s April Fool’s Day hoax, it sparked some thinking in our office.

"When we saw the popularity of the post, we felt this was a good opportunity to offer something different to our drinkers.

"We hope they love it as much as we do," he said.

The full collaboration collection also includes a pair of VB x Volley socks and a limited-edition insulated cooler box.

The VB x Volley shoe will launch exclusively online on the VB and Volley websites on December 02.

The shoes will retail for $84.99, and pairs that come in the cooler box will retail for $94.99. The socks are priced at $14.99.
