Menswear retailer Rodd & Gunn has launched its first New York store as the brand reveals plans for rapid growth over the next two years.
Following the success of its first US store in Newport Beach, California late last year the brand is expecting to open a further eight to 10 stores by the end of 2018.
These plans will include two new locations on the west coast by the third quarter of 2017.
Rodd & Gunn managing director Mike Beagley said the brand had seen impressive results since entering the US market last year.
However, the company would not rush further US expansion plans.
"The Newport store is trading well above plan and we are really happy with how the Newport Beach community has embraced us," Beagley said.
“We are going to be selective in what we do and take it relatively slowly.”
The new store, located in the Brooklyn neighbourhood of Dumbo, is part of a classic heritage building with floor space covering 297 square metres.
The store features the buildings original cement floors and high exposed ceilings, while combining the brands signature lodge design and accents of steel and brass.
Beagley said the brand wasn't really looking to open on the east coast but saw the opportunity as too important to pass on, citing the average household income in the area as a key factor.
