Intimate apparel retailer Honey Birdette has once again had to pull a campaign over customer complaints.

The Advertising Standards Board upheld complaints over a store windows campaign with the tagline "Room Service."

It featured a series of three images, one with a model facing away from the camera wearing a g-string set.

The Board upheld the complaint and ruled it did not treat the issue of sex and nudity with sensitivity to the relevant broad audience, including children.

It also ruled the tagline, paired with the slogan 'Introducing Natalie, is a double entendre referencing the availability of a new working girl.

"This is overtly sexualized and degrading in that the composition of the image is predominantly a woman’s legs and bottom, dressed in the sort of lingerie that only a porn addled man would crave for," one complainant noted.

"This is appropriate for a sex shop, or adult shop, but not in the local shopping centre where young children and teenagers are heavily influenced."

Honey Birdette claimed all relevant signage has been changed due to timing for a sales campaign.

It also alleged the complaints stemmed from campaigning movement called Collective Shout.

This is not the first time the Board has ruled against Honey Birdette, more recently over a Christmas campaign featuring a bound and gagged Santa.
