Australian wholesaler RCG Brands has secured an exclusive licence to distribute the Caterpillar range of industrial, work and casual footwear in Australia and New Zealand.
RCG Brands falls under the umbrella of RCG Corporation, owner and operator Athlete's Foot Australia and the Shoe Superstore Group. The master licensor of the brand, Wolverine World Wide Inc (WWW) is also the licensor of RCG's other brands including Merrell, Cushe and Chaco.
The agreement was announced on the Australian Securities Exchange today, and RCG chairman Ivan Hammerschlag said it was a coup for the business.
“CAT footwear is sold in more than 50 countries worldwide and is an instantly recognisable badge of quality, reliability and toughness,” he said.
“We are delighted that WWW has chosen RCG as its new distributor for this prestigious brand. We see it as an endorsement of the approach we have taken with Merrell and a reflection of the pleasing results we have been able to achieve with our wholesale business since starting up a little over a year ago.”
RCG will officially commence distributing the CAT footwear on April 1, 2011.
