Puma Australia has firmed its commitment to women in sport, calling on Queensland Firebird netballer Jemma Mi Mi to launch the brand's new netball shoe.

Puma's new Accelerate CT Pro and the CT Nitro netball shoe improves on-court speed through a lightweight and supportive design.

While the shoe supports women on-court, Puma Australia has been increasing its efforts to support women off-court over the past year.

Beginning with the #WitnessFearless campaign in 2020 in collaboration with the Melbourne Vixens netball team, the campaign encouraged the community to change their perception of the sport by showing the grit and hard work that goes into it.

This was followed by ‘The Fearless Podcast Series’ which showcased the stories of female athletes across a number of sports including Indigenous Queensland Firebirds netball player Jemma Mi Mi.

Mi Mi said that while many Aussies have missed out on a consistent season of sport during the pandemic, she is excited to see it return in 2022.

"When I was growing up, sport was what taught me about human connection and helped me to meet many of my friends.

"Knowing that so many young girls are missing seasons of team sport is heartbreaking to me, as netball unifies women in sport and had such a huge impact on my life as a young teen.

"At the heart of the game is true team spirit and passion for the entire team to reach their goals, which is hard to grasp without that in person, on court connection.

"The return to sport across Australia is coming, and it’ll ignite the netball community for the season ahead.

"I’m so happy to be able to be on court doing what I love in Queensland with the Firebirds, and the Accelerate shoe is levelling up my game so that I can be the best player I can be," she said.

The Puma Accelerate CT Pro and CT Nitro are available now on the Puma website, in Puma stores and select retailers.

The CT Pro retails for $170, while the CT Nitro is priced at $220.
