Why are some of Net-A-Porter's biggest executives about to land in Australia?

Buying manager Sasha Sarokin and Porter fashion director Gabriele Hackworthy are among a delegation set to jet in for Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia.

Sarokin will take part in a number of engagements, including meeting existing Net-A-Porter designers and attending runway shows.

Sarokin, who joined the etailer in 2008 and has over 12 years of buying experience, said she is keen to build on her connection with the market.

"I attended Australian Fashion Week for the first time last year and was blown away by the talent.

"One of my passions is working with designers, and when I encounter smaller, emerging brands I encourage them to always consider a global customer and not solely concentrate on their direct market."

Meanwhile Hackworthy, who is part of the shoppable Porter magazine, will also meet Australian designers and scout local content for the publication.

Net-A-Porter has stocked Australian fashion brands since 2002 and has attended Fashion Week since 2009.

The online retailer’s existing Australian designer portfolio includes Banjo & Matilda, Collette by Collette Dinnigan, Dion Lee, Karla Spetic, Le Specs, Lover, Michael Lo Sordo, Ryan Storer, Sass & Bide, The Upside and Zimmermann.
