The original building was destroyed by fire in 2007.
Now the redevelopment of Myer Hobart has hit another road block: flooding.
A brick wall between the Myer worksite and the Hobart Rivulet has collapsed, pushing water into the area.
The damage has also prompted the closure of The Cat and Fiddle shopping centre.
The Myer building was gutted by fire seven years ago, with the redevelopment of the building stalled on several occasions.
It is anticipated the flooding will be followed by a lengthy repair period.
