FAID has pitched itself as Australia's answer to supporting local, sustainable and ethical merchandise.

Now the venture has upgraded from a pop-up venture to a permanent location in The Rocks, Sydney.

FAID (Fashion Alliance of Independent Designers) connects independent designers in the fashion, beauty and homewares space with their audiences through both etail and retail channels.

Jessica Speers, Kathryn Cowle (co-founders of cult fashion brand Cedar & Onyx) and Tessa Boehm (Boehm Intimates) created FAID as a natural progression of support for young Australian designers wanting to disrupt the industry.

‘FAID has been a natural progression of the friendship and passion between us and the designers," Speers said.

"Having experienced first hand the difficulty of starting and growing a fashion business, we realised that there was a need
for a place, a family, where designers could come together to share ideas, experiences and to collaborate on bringing audiences the best of what emerging Australian designers have to offer."

After a successful 2018 pop up store, FAID has found a permanent location in The Rocks.

The bricks and mortar store is a curated experience that has been put together by Australian interior designer Tim Leveson.

It features brands such as Isabelle Quinn, Honour Apparel, and Phoebe Hunter, allowing shoppers to meet the designers who also assist and style customers in store to offer a more bespoke shopping experience.
