Alceon Retail Group (ARG) and Ginger & Smart Pty Ltd today announced a new partnership, with ARG taking a majority position in the new entity ARG Ginger & Smart.
ARG has had a series of Australian market acquistions, including Noni B Group, Surfstitch and Ezibuy.
Alexandra and Genevieve Smart will remain as MD and creative director, respectively, and will continue to drive the brand whilst leveraging ARG’s expertise in retail, logistics, production and eCommerce.
Alceon executive director Richard Facioni said the acquisition was strategic.

“We plan to grow the business, both online and through physical stores. Alexandra and Genevieve bring notable management and design calibre and we look forward to working together to build a great future for this brand.”
Established in 2002 by Sydney-based sisters Alexandra and Genevieve Smart, the Ginger & Smart brand is renowned for its luxury contemporary design aesthetic.
Alexandra Smart welcomed the investment.
