Beginning Boutique director Sarah Timmerman has been awared Brisbane Young Entrepreneur of the Year for Retail and Services.
The Retail and Services category award recognises excellence in retail and retail
services direct to the consumer – either online or through traditional store models.
Timmerman employs a team of 25, has office and warehouse space in Brisbane’s West End, and has an active social media presence, with more than 900,000 followers across social media platforms.
When accepting her award, Timmerman joked about her relationship with the store's 16 - 24 year old demographic.
"Today we had 40 per cent off for 40 minutes when we reached 400k on Instagram
and I had to counsel a few girls through missing out on a new dress.
"We have a strong online presence and you need to post relevantly and frequently to achieve and maintain this."
