Decathlon has announced its expansion plans for Australia with the brand announcing it will launch its first Victorian store in November 2018.
The brand also announced that it will open a second store in New South Wales in November 2018 and will also open a further five stores in Victoria over the next two years.
The company said that the new stores will be over 3,800 square metres in size and will carry over 7,000 different products representing over 70 sports.
Decathlon Australia CEO Olivier Robinet said that the brand was looking to build on the success of its first store in Sydney.
“We are extremely pleased to be expanding our presence across Australia. Building on the success of our website and our first store, we want to maintain the momentum by opening further stores.
“Australians are some of the most active people in the world, the whole country is like a playground!
“Our whole team is focused on assisting customers to fall in love with sport and benefit from our great products, affordable prices and wonderful service.
“In fact, our expansion across Victoria means that we will be providing jobs for hundreds of Victorians. Each store employs up to 100 people.”
