Australian start-up Willi Footwear is reporting promising growth since opening into the market late last year.

Its offering of customisable footwear is now available in selected stockists and online after a crowdfunding campaign surpassed its initial $30,000 target reaching $40,000 in less than two months.

Managing director and founder Brad Munro said that the company is tapping into a major gap in the footwear market.

“We live in an age where people want to be able to customise their look to suit any occasion and their mood, and this product allows them to change their straps in 30 seconds to match their clothes or accessories.

“It’s affordable fashion that can be updated with minimal cost each season, and offers the wearer the ability to have a large colour range with only a few bases and straps.”

Willi offers four base colours and six strap colours including black, white and a metallic range of red, blue, green and nude, totalling 24 possible colour combinations for customers to select.

Additionally, the company has reported interest from global distributors in the US, Japan, Greece, Spain, Portugal, New Zealand and South Africa.

Munro is currently looking to set up a distribution point in the US to service growing international demand.

Prices range from around $24.95-$34.95.
