Jewellery retailer Bevilles will relocate its corporate head office and distribution centre from Melbourne to Brisbane this year.

It comes less than a year since its new parent company Michael Hill bought the retailer for $45 million.

According to the Michael Hill group company, the relocation will allow Bevilles to leverage Michael Hill Australia’s existing distribution and support centre in Brisbane, which is expected to drive cost and operational efficiencies.

The relocation is expected to be completed in July 2024.

“The Bevilles relocation is not only a reflection of our strong focus on managing operational costs in the current retail environment but an excellent opportunity to leverage the Group’s existing infrastructure, systems and expertise to drive Beville’s operational performance and customer experience,” Michael Hill CEO and managing director Daniel Bracken said.

Bevilles' move also comes two years after Michael Hill's headquarters moved into the Cannon Hill neighbourhood in Brisbane's east.

As of 2023 end, Michael Hill had 272 stores, as well as 30 Bevilles stores. The company’s overall revenue for the first half of FY24 was $363 million, up 4 per cent from the prior year.

Around the world, including New Zealand and Canada, the Michael Hill group employs over 2,800 employees across retail sales, manufacturing and corporate roles. This also includes Bevilles staff.
