Online fashion giant Asos has appointed a local public relations firm to spearhead growth in the Australian market.

As reported by Ragtrader magazine recently, the UK-based etailer also hit the recruitment trail last month to secure an international launch manager for its assault on the region.

The job listing sought a manager to "co-ordinate the launch of a local Asos site in Australia and the continuous improvement of the content, service and marketing activities post launch".

Sydney-based fashion public relations firm Golightly has announced it will manage all local communication and strategy for the company with immediate effect.

According to the firm, Australia has shown some of the strongest sales and customer growth rates for Asos, with a higher basket value per order compared to many larger territories globally.

Asos draws over 11 million unique visitors per month, with some 40,000 branded and private label product lines across womenswear, menswear and accessories.
