Canadian-born outdoor apparel brand Arc’teryx will open its second NSW store at The Galeries in Sydney on May 9.

According to the global retailer, New South Wales remains the most sizable portion of the Arc’teryx Australian consumer base, citing the proximity of locations such as the Blue Mountains and Mount Kosciuszko. The brand expects more stores on the way for NSW.

Overall, Arc’teryx operates four stores across Australia according to its website, with two others based in Melbourne.

As well as showcasing Arc’teryx’s range of gear and apparel through retail and interactive demonstrations, the Sydney store will act as the base for community events going forward.

“The incredible reception to our Bondi Junction store proved that Sydney will continue to be a key focus for Arc’teryx,” marketing manager for AU/NZ Hayden Stevens said. “We are thrilled to provide Sydneysiders with more access to the brand, growing the movement of exploring the unexplored and not just adding to people’s closets.”

Arc’teryx will also roll out its ReBird repair and recycling programme at the Sydney store, which includes product care, refurbishments and diverting material waste into new products.

“By increasing our retail presence and ingraining our brand, Arc’teryx is working to build strong outdoor communities that bring people together and encourage them to spend time outside,” Stevens said.

The Arc’teryx range is designed for various uses, including hiking, trail running, rock climbing, skiing and snowboarding.
