SYDNEY: Department store Myer is preparing to capitalise on Valentine's Day spending with a live spectacle at its CBD store today.
A troupe of dancers wearing the latest Elle Macpherson Intimates range will stage two performances from 12pm to 2:30pm and 5pm and 8pm. Two male and four female dancers will perform on the mezzanine staircase before moving down into the cosmetics hall.
Myer will aim to drive sales of the range by offering a gift pack for consumers who purchase any item from the 'Obsedian' range.
This comes as business information firm IBISWorld predicts Valentine's Day spending to total $867.3 million this year, a rise of 2.7 per cent in 2009. As reported by www.ragtrader.com.au earlier this week, spending on clothing and intimate apparel is predicted to grow 1.5 per cent to $67 million.
