LA based denim label Good American is set to launch in Australia in the first week of February.
Co-founded by Khloe Kardashian and Emma Grede, the label will be exclusively available at David Jones and The Iconic.
Launching in October 2016, it saw sales reaching upwards of USD$1 million in just one day.
Grede said that launching in Australia made sense as it is the brand's second top international market.
“We saw that there was a big appetite for Good American in Australia through customer feedback and our social channels.
“We have so many amazing Australian women in our campaigns and content – Emily Skye, Bambi Northwood-Blyth, Emily Sears, Rachel Tee Tyler, Mishti Rahmn, to name a few – and our audience has grown through these relationships.
“We made it a priority to make our offerings more accessible all over this country, so launching here was a no-brainer."
As part of the label's focus on size inclusivity, each item is available in sizes 00 to 24.
It recently launched a size 15 after noticing 50% more returns between size 14 to 16, compared to any other size in the range.
Grede said it also won't partner with any retailer unless they agree to stock the full size range.
This was part of the reason why it has chosen to partner with The Iconic and David Jones, she explained.
“Both of these retailers are the experts in online and in-store experiences in Australia, so it made sense for us to partner with companies like The Iconic and David Jones who really understand the market.
“Additionally they are both taking the full size range which is a condition to stock Good American.”
She and the team have been working with both retailers on promotional strategies for the brand, as well hosting an open casting in Sydney in the lead up to its launch.
“We will be rolling out some fantastic content with The Iconic to highlight our signature fits and the product details that make Good American so special.
“The content will feature Good Squad members Ellie Gonsalves, Emily Skye and Mishti Rahman.
“Additionally, we're working with David Jones to create really exciting events and experience which we'll be exclusively announcing on our social media channels.
“We really want to let our customers know that we are here and it is easier than ever to shop in the full size range."
For now, it will focus on working with these two retailers and ensuring Australian customers are getting the best customer experience with the brand before expanding further.
“We like to start small, make sure that we are properly serving the customer before moving into rapid expansion mode.
“When we first launched, we exclusively were carried by Nordstrom in the US and Selfridges in the UK which really helped us tailor our approach to the respective markets.
“As the line grows here, we will absolutely consider expanding our stockist base to more specialty boutiques.
“We just want Australian women of all sizes and shapes to be able to shop Good American and have the best customer experience possible.”
Worldwide it is currently stocked in over 300 locations as well as its own online store.
