Rivers is reaping the rewards from the introduction of high-profile brands into its bricks-and-mortar and eCommerce stores.

The retailer is the latest in a string of business including Harris Scarfe and Target who have elevated their product offering with the introduction of designer brands to the product mix.

Following a successful 2019 trial with Nike and Adidas – which saw Rivers stock select footwear styles in-store and online – the retailer has expanded its brands offering to include Tommy Hilfiger, Nautica, and Levi's.

The move is part of Rivers' 'Big brands, low prices' offering and complements its online department store strategy.

Mosaic Brands CEO Scott Evans said that the strategy demonstrates the business' ability to listen to what customers really want.

"At Rivers we thrive on providing exceptional value for our customers.

"The team have worked very hard to be able to extend this price proposition to now include world famous big brands like Nike, Tommy Hilfiger, Nautica, and Levi's.

"We are very excited about this and our customers are too – in fact, our online launch of Uggs sold out in one night," he said.

However, the offering of popular brands isn't limited to just fashion, Evans added.

"In addition to the big brand clothing and footwear we also trialled selected designer homewares in stores and saw these sell out within the week.

"Rivers is good example of listening to your customer, shifting to meet their needs while staying true to the core brand values," he said.

The retailer is set to rapidly expand the strategy to offer its customers a wider array of brands in-store and online.
