Australian fashion brands such as Country Road and Scanlan Theodore have joined 900 other retailers on Qantas Loyalty’s new online shopping channel, Qantas Marketplace.
Other new fashion brands include Rebecca Vallance, bassike, Jac + Jack, Viktoria & Woods, Bec + Bridge, and Kirrikin, alongside other categories such as beauty, homewares, appliances and technology, making up 900 brands overall and more than 20,000 SKUs.
The new shopping experience replaces the Qantas Rewards store with 20% more brands and more than a thousand new products available. Popular international brands such as Apple, BOSE and Dyson will continue to be available on Qantas Marketplace.
To mark the launch of the platform, Australian designer Michael Lo Sordo created a custom dress (pictured) in Qantas’ shade of red that will be available via Qantas Marketplace.
Country Road head of digital Matt Jones told Ragtrader that Qantas Marketplace is a strategic partner for the brand.
“Our data shows a lot of synergies with customer demographics, so we saw this as a fantastic opportunity to connect with new customers in Australia and abroad,” Jones said. “Our aim is to range the complete Country Road collection on Qantas Marketplace, creating a seamless online experience for members of the Qantas community.”
Scanlan Theodore’s head of brand and marketing Monique Santos confirmed the brand has launched a considered curation of its ready-to-wear and accessories collections.
“The selection includes signature styles and fabrications sourced from speciality mills across the globe – including our iconic tailoring and sophisticated Crepe Knit silhouettes,” Santos told Ragtrader.
Santos said launching with Qantas Marketplace has been a key initiative in its ongoing growth strategy.
“The partnership with Qantas presents an exciting opportunity for the brand to reach new audiences, enabling Scanlan Theodore to connect with clients who value luxury designs, forging lasting, loyal relationships.”
Meanwhile, Frequent Flyers members will be able to use their Qantas Points to shop on Qantas Marketplace using Points Plus Pay.
As an introductory offer, Points Club members will earn an additional three Qantas Points per dollar spent and Points Club Plus members will earn an additional six points per dollar spent until 30 June 2023. Members can also access an ongoing discount on the points required for purchases on Qantas Marketplace, with a 10% discount for Points Club Plus and a 5% discount for Points Club.
Qantas Loyalty CEO Olivia Wirth said its Frequent Flyers members earn more points on the ground than they do through travel.
“With Qantas Marketplace, we’re connecting them to hundreds of brands that they know and love, with the added benefit of being able to earn and use points,” Wirth said.
“We know our members are always looking for more value and ways to boost their points balance, so we’ve increased the points earn rate on the platform too.
“Australia’s love of Qantas Points has seen us build strong partnerships with some of the country’s biggest brands,” Wirth added. “These connections are key to keeping our members engaged in the program and ultimately drive value for our business.”
