Accessory brand Oroton has broached into the ready-to-wear category - with retailers now set to get a slice of the action.
Oroton showcased its SS12/13 collection at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia (MBFWA) yesterday, designed by creative director Ana Maria Escobar.
This marked the brand's MBFWA debut and first solid entry into ready-to-wear fashion.
Oroton PR and marketing executive Alison Gray told ragtrader.com.au the collection will appear in stores from July 2012, with opportunities for buyers.
"We are wholesaling the collection and it will be available in selected David Jones stores," she said. "Our design team has grown over the last couple of years to accommodate expansion into new categories."
These include apparel basics and knitwear, in addition to retail expansion across South East Asia.
The fashion collection is manufactured in Italy and China from fabrications such as silk and linen.
Garments start at $95 for a printed tee to $595 for a jacket, while the SS12/13 accessories offer peaks at $1250 for a crystal clutch.
The collection includes classic dresses and separates in vivid blues, pinks, oranges, beige and stone.
Statement items includes a black and silver glomesh dress, side-split printed pants and glomesh collar shirting.
