Local label Opus 9 will launch its first e-boutique this month, which will be used to facilitate an innovative roll out approach for future collections.

The e-store, www.opus9.com.au, will tie in with the launch of Opus 9’s 2012 urban collection, which will run with one designed piece each month to give the consumer fresh new styles throughout the year.

The piece to be released for April – “Hooded scarf and arm socks” – will be available online from this week.

Opus 9 designer Justine Taylor said the decision to release its styles progressively allows Opus 9 product to correspond with consumer trends in shopping patterns and budgets and provide quality pieces rather than a large quantity.

“At Opus 9, we choose not to do two distinct season collections per year - instead we do one range with the same themes and principals that develop evenly over time,” she said.

“Opus 9 is going to be one long evolving collection in 2012.”

Opus 9 was launched in 2008 as the brain child of Sydney-based designer Justine Taylor to provide the Australian market with a local alternative to aesthetics similar to international designers such as Ann Demeulemeester, Rick Owens, Yohji Yamamoto and Rad Hourani.
