One of the country's most well respected boutique luxury destinations will enter the multichannel realm next month.

Jean Brown will launch an ecommerce platform from May 2012, adding to its longstanding Brisbane-based retail and mail order service.

Jean Brown has carried multi-brand accessories in line with the Northern Hemisphere since its launch in 2007, introducing brands such as Proenza Schouler to the Australian market for the first time.

Its portfolio of footwear, jewellery, headwear and jewellery includes Christian Louboutin, Chloe, Marni and Oscar de le Renta.

Jean Brown director Amber Long said the launch of an ecommerce platform will be particularly strong for regional and interstate clients, who have been using its mail order service for years.

"Our regional clients have told us that they prefer to buy online from an Australian retailer rather than from an overseas store.

"When they visit Brisbane, if only once every couple of years, they know they can visit Jean Brown and be treated like a VIP. They simply cannot do that with online-only retailers.

"We have many high profile clients from Melbourne and Sydney who visit Jean Brown ahead of the racing season to accessorise their race-day outfits. We can now deliver to our clients across Australia two shopping options: in-store and online."

The platform will also offer customer service support from styling consultants, limited-time free domestic shipping on full price purchases and easy returns via a BackShip Pack.

"Additional services our consultants can provide to jeanbrown.com.au customers may include providing photos of a handbag on a human body to show proportion of its size to the wearer, or specific details on the size and fit of a particular shoe.

"Jean Brown has always provided clients with this product support and we are very excited to now offer this extraordinary service level as part of an easy, online shopping experience at jeanbrown.com.au."
