A string of major retailers, including Myer, Just Group and Katies, have signed on to take part in a landmark national online sales event set to take the market by storm.
Click Frenzy, created by online retail industry resource Power Retail, will officially go live on November 20 and is set to bring together hundreds of online retailers for a 24-hour mega-sale, allowing bargain-hunting online shoppers to access one-time offers during the pre-Christmas rush.
Inspired by the hugely successful Cyber Monday concept in the US,Click Frenzy aims to set a new online sales record in Australia, in the same line as Cyber Monday which is now the biggest online sales event in the US, and growing every year.
Power Retail director and co-founder Grant Arnott said Click Frenzy as the local answer, will span across a range of categories, including fashion, homewares, electrical & appliances, food & wine, and books, music and movies.
However, he said fashion to date has been the most successful category, which has garnered the most interest and an “unbelievable” response from retailers.
Arnott confirmed some of these retailers include industry giants Myer, Katies, Jeanswest, The Iconic, and Just Group, which has committed five of its brands to take part in Click Frenzy.
“With online shopping surging, this will be the biggest digital sales event Australia has ever seen, by a factor of 10 at least,” Arnott said.
“We?ve already been fielding a huge amount of interest from retailers in the idea. You only need to look at the staggering statistics from Cyber Monday to understand the potential of Click Frenzy. Shoppers are definitely ready, and this will be a massive kickstart to the Christmas shopping period for retailers.”
He explained that Click Frenzy works by centralising the best online deals in one location (www.clickfrenzy.com.au) for one “frenzied” 24 hour period. Customers can search for deals across a user-friendly online marketplace which has been built to withstand an enormous number of visitors.
Users are also able to search by category, brand, product name, item or just browse the range of deals available.
“To anyone who doubts online retail, this will prove beyond a shadow of a doubt the power of the internet to move shoppers,” Arnott said.
“We?re expecting a record volume of online transactions in a single day, and we will have some amazing statistics to show after the frenzy ends. There?s no percentage taken from retailers? sales – we want to make this as affordable as possible to maximise participation and profits for the retail community.”
In addition, Arnott revealed he plans to tap into the latest trend in e-commerce to further boost Click Frenzy's sale potential.
“What we?re really excited about is kicking off at 7pm to capitalise on the new wave of couch commerce – the ?lean-back shopper? armed with an iPad browsing and buying while the TV?s on,” he said.
