Australian luxury retailer Harrolds has launched its first eCommerce platform.
Launching the platform during the pandemic, the business has upgraded its customer service to allow consumers to shop from their homes to remain socially distanced.
The platform offers Harrolds the opportunity to rapidly scale its operations and also offers customers digital experiences such as virtual styling and click and collect options.
Harrolds MD Ross Poulakis said that the challenge was to emulate the in-store shopping experience online.
"From the onset, the challenge was to convey the in-shop experience as closely as possible online.
"Digital is now a critical part of the customer journey for luxury goods and without a premium online offering, we couldn’t serve our customers as effectively as we wanted to.
"[Our partner] delivered what we had envisioned for our customers and the response to our eCommerce service, especially during this unprecedented time, has been very positive.
"We’re grateful that even during this downtime, our customers are still supporting us.
"In turn, via our eCommerce platform, we are continuing to serve, delight, and give options to our customers as we safely ease out of social distancing," he said.
Harrolds is a privately owned, family-run business that was founded in 1985 on Melbourne’s Collins Street and is now home to over 70 local and international designers.
Harrolds has partnered with eStar to launch its eCommerce platform.
