David Jones is set to launch its Black Friday campaign, 'The Event of the Year', four days prior to the shopping event. 

The department store will launch the campaign on November 22, with early bird deals also available from this Friday November 19. 

Friday's early bird offers will feature discounted products across home and electrical categories, before expanding to fashion, shoes, accessories on Monday. 

David Jones director of omnichannel Kate Bergin said the retailer is anticipating strong sales in-store and online.

"The Event of the Year at David Jones is a great opportunity for our customers to get in early and commence their Christmas shopping, with some of our best offers available across fashion, home, beauty.

"This year, we are seeing early momentum in gifting, home entertaining and Christmas trim, festive fashion and luxury skincare in the lead up to Christmas.

"We expect a buoyant period both in-store and online as Australia and New Zealand continue to emerge from a challenging time and embrace the holiday season.

"The safety of our customers, team and community will always be our priority, and we have a comprehensive range of measures in place to ensure we provide a safe and enjoyable shopping experience for everyone," she said. 

To support the campaign, a number of shopping services have been implemented including gift experts on-hand in-store, gift-wrapping services, extended store hours, complementary click and collect, more ways to pay, free express shipping over $50 as well as flexible returns. 

The Event of The Year will offer new deals daily. 

The launch of the Event of The Year campaign comes after David Jones launched its Christmas campaign, 'Christmas of Dreams' on Monday. 

Black Friday will take place on November 26.
