A Melbourne-based fashion accessory label has boosted its business potential as it prepares for further growth.

Coussinet, which specialise in “statement” accessories, has added an e-commerce facility and revamped its existing website.

The e-commerce function, which is an Shopify mutation customised by the brand's web designer, has been fused to a version of Coussinet's previous front end which has a flash component. This now allows customers to enter the site via the flash experience or go straight to the shop.

The fresh website now also includes a downloadable catalogue/look book, as well as other features such as video, styling tips, a live chat option and links to social media tools including Facebook, Pinterest and Twitter.

The site also ships internationally and offers free shipping on all Australian orders over $100.

According to Coussinet founder, Greta Grossberg, the development is also part of a greater strategy to build brand awareness ahead of further developments in store.

“We knew it was time to be clearly present in the world of e-commerce or be left behind. We had many requests for stock to be available for purchase online and believe that this is a necessary offering for any brand serious about its commitment to stores and to customers,” she said.

“We would like to be up there with our competitors offering stockists and consumers an alternative look and choice of product, [so], we are looking to create more visibility here and overseas to grow our brand further into the future.”

Coussinet currently boasts several hundred stockists nationally, and also delivers product into a selection of international boutiques and online stores in Germany, Hong Kong and New Zealand.
