Retail giant Westfield has today announced yet another online campaign in a bid to draw visitors to its website and offer customers more options.
The brand has teamed up with Virgin Australia and the partnership will enable members of the airline's Velocity Frequent Flyer program to earn and redeem points online, with the nation's largest shopping centre group.
The collaboration is the latest in a series of online initiatives from Westfield. It follows on from its StyleStream campaign earlier this month, which was an online event and scheme featuring celebrity ambassador Rachel Zoe.
Westfield's online 'body shape calculator', backed by British celebrity stylist Gok Wan, was also launched back in October.
It is free to join the frequent flyer program and members can earn and redeem points online at westfield.com.au
Virgin Australia’s Velocity Frequent Flyer program general manager, Phil Gunter, said the new Westfield online partnership allows members to earn points on everything from electronics, books and furniture, to fashion, jewellery and toys.
“Westfield shoppers will be able to fly all over the world with the points they earn,” Gunter said.
Velocity Frequent Flyer members will earn two points per dollar spent on westfield.com.au and to celebrate the launch of the new partnership they will earn four points per dollar spent until December 31 2011.
Westfield’s Australia and New Zealand managing director, Robert Jordan, said it is the first shopping centre group in the country to offer members access to a 'buy and fly' loyalty program.
