Australian menswear brand Equmen has had a staff shake-up ahead of a new collection and fabric enhancements.
The brand, which has had global success since it hit the retail market in 2009, produces items such as underwear, singlets, T-shirts and socks.
The products, which are developed in conjunction with physiotherapists, ergonomic consultants and athletic garment engineers, are made using Helix Mapping, a body-mapping system that builds physio taping techniques into every garment to reinforce and support the body's natural structure.
It works by criss-crossing the upper and lower back and compression on the shirt gently pulls the shoulders back to support an upright posture.
Ahead of a new collection early next year, which will incorporate crew neck styles plus advancements in the patented Helix Mapping technology, new chief executive officer, Anthony Pavlakis, has been appointed.
International sales director, Michael Flint, said Pavlakis is the best ambassador as he knows the product well and has been wearing the underwear since the brands inception.
“Pavlakis is now bringing an excitingly new and fresh injection to the brand as well as an unrivalled knowledge base with strong business acumen,” Flint said.
Pavlakis said the new fabric developments in the Helix Mapping improves the core strength of the material, which aims to enhance posture, control body temperature and promote circulation.
Other appointments include the return of the firm's head of operations and logistics Christian Lush.
The brands original head designer Carolina Ale has also returned and internationally experienced PR and communications director Emma Chappell has put her own PR agency, Cilla Creative, on hold to join the company.
“This power force of new blood, along with the long-standing original members of the team is sure to make a bold and brash statement on the global stage of men’s undergarments,” Flint said.
The products, which are manufactured in Israel, can be found in various shops, including selected David Jones stores.
The group plans to continue to grow the business in all of the major department stores worldwide as well as gaining an online presence with specialist retailers.
