Bassike CEO Billy Voss discusess the opening of the brand's new flagship Avalon store.
The Northern Beaches will always be the spiritual home of Bassike.
The original office was a simple beach shack in Palm Beach and the first Bassike store was opened in Avalon over twelve years ago – the laid-back lifestyle has definitely influenced Bassike’s aesthetic and brand DNA.
The original Bassike Avalon store actually opened as a ‘guerrilla’ pop-up event, but went on to become a cornerstone of Avalon village for over a decade.
So whilst closing the site of the first Bassike store marks the end of one era, we are so excited to deliver a new retail experience and present the full Bassike collection in a curated, larger space on Avalon Parade.
The new airy 170-square-metre space was designed by long-time Bassike architect Kelvin Ho of Akin Atelier, employing a signature palette of travertine, timber, linen and sisal, accented with plants, artworks, rugs and custom furniture to evoke a refined beach house feel.
Our bricks and mortar stores continue to be an integral part of telling the Bassike brand story, as the physical retail experience offers an authentic way for us to connect with the community and allows our customer to touch, feel and engage with all of the elements of the Bassike brand.
