Fashion etailers have ramped up efforts to snatch market share from traditional retailers, with three major players launching fresh initiatives to drive sales across Australia and New Zealand this week.
Australia's leading online shoe store StyleTread has just launched into the New Zealand market, offering local consumers over 65,000 designer footwear styles and accessories.
Meanwhile domestic shopping club brandsExclusive has debuted a 'live feed' function allowing customers to show off recent purchases and tweets with friends and brandsExclusive members.
New York-based luxury giant Moda Operandi, which allows members to pre-order designer collections, has also kicked off the first round of Australian spring/summer 2012/13 sales.
Josh Goot is the first designer off the rank, offering 36 looks ranging from tailored corsets and cocktail dresses to symmetrical cut-away skirts and monochromatic shirting.
On the Australasian front, New Zealand customers will be offered free next day delivery and 365-day free returns as part of the new styletread.co.nz.
Brands on the website include PeepToe, Mollini, Tony Bianco, Robert Robert, JLH for Siren and Gorman.
In early 2012, StyleTread introduced a three hour delivery service within Sydney and secured a $12 million investment by venture capitalist firm Starfish ventures.
Meanwhile brandsExclusive founder Daniel Jarosch believes the launch of a live feed service on his venture will boost sales.
"Shopping is often a social activity and through our live feed we will enable users to see what other members and their friends are buying in real time, while also engaging and introducing new audiences to brandsExclusive’s offering.
"We hope the introduction of the live feed will enhance the community and social sharing aspect of brandsExclusive in addition to taking online shopping to the next level in Australia."
Trending items will be on show in the feed, with members able to purchase direct from the feed or share via multiple social networks.
