Rebecca Vallance has launched its first-ever casualwear collection, Rebecca Vallance Sportif. The brand has also recently opened a new boutique in Double Bay. Here, Vallance discusses both of these milestone moments.
Why did you launch the Rebecca Vallance Sportif collection?
The Rebecca Vallance Sportif collection has been in the works for over 12 months now, we were inspired to explore the world of casualwear after deep diving into what our business had (and didn’t have) on offer at the time.
The luxe organic cotton fabrications and minimal colour palette ensure the Sportif collection fits into the lifestyle and existing wardrobe of the RV girl, the sweats can easily be styled back with Rebecca Vallance core to informalise your suiting for an everyday look
What was the response to this range?
Rebecca Vallance Sportif was very well received and sold through 80% in the first 24 hours.
We were so overwhelmed by the positive response and we credit this to our strong knowledge of who our customer is and what her wardrobe needs are.
What is next for Rebecca Vallance Sportif?
We wanted to launch a casual collection with the intention of the for these core basics to live with you throughout the seasons and become your leisure staples.
We’re planning to implement the Rebecca Vallance Sportif collection as an ongoing focus for the brand, branching off the core product as a capsule collection.
You've also just recently opened the new Double Bay store. What was this process like?
We’ve been looking at opening a Rebecca Vallance store in Double Bay for quite some time now, finding and securing the perfect space was a lengthy process.
Aside from the usual speedbumps in opening a store, our current climate also presented a new set of challenges, especially around social distancing and the restrictions in regards to how many people could be in space at a single time.
We used Archer Design for the design and refurbishment of the store and they were great to work with.

How else has the business been impacted by COVID – how did you adapt?
The fashion industry in general was heavily impacted by COVID, it was a great time for us to sit back and re-look at everything we’re doing.
As a brand we did pivot during this time to launch a casual line - Rebecca Vallance Sportif and another brand extension which comes out later in the year.
What are some long-term projects the business has in the works?
Aside from the recent Double Bay store opening and the launch of the Rebecca Vallance Sportif collection, we’ve got some big and exciting plans in the works!
We’ll actually be celebrating 10 years of Rebecca Vallance in January, which is so exciting and a huge moment for our brand!
Long term, we’d love to continue to build on our international presence and have plans for a national and international retail roll out.
