Australian womenswear designer Alice McCall is about to embark on an ambitious expansion project.
Here are five ways Alice McCall is kicking ass.
1. The brand is about to unleash stores across Australia
Bucking tough retail conditions, Alice McCall will open five new stores this year across Warringah Mall, Bondi, Miranda, Chermside and Claremont Quarter. By the 2018 financial year, it will operate 11 stores nationally, with five in NSW, three in Victoria, two in Queensland and one in Western Australia.
2. eCommerce? Piece of cake
Online growth is 40% year on year, with a complete website redesign and international digital marketing plan proposed for the 2018 financial year. It's already seeing a shift in online consumers with one in three orders going outside Australia.
3. World domination is on the cards
Since launching in 2004, Alice McCall has steadily built a wholesale empire to span David Jones, Liberty London, Harvey Nichols and Moda Operandi. This year, the brand is scouting retail locations in Los Angeles with hopes to open a site next year.
4. Alice McCall's supply chain can work miracles
"When Beyonce wore our Senorita dress, it sold out within four days," McCall explains. "I recut that in a different colour and got it into our retail stores within an eight week period. The two main indents are about 40 styles and then I'll just react to best sellers and get those into store."
