MELBOURNE: Highpoint shopping centre has unveiled plans to bolster its position on the city's fashion map through the roll-out of a suite of new fashion retail brands this spring.

Recent weeks have seen Highpoint open outlets for a wide range of stores including Saba, Ojay, Country Road, Vicious Threads, French Connection, Sportscraft and Oroton, while the opening of Mimco, Puma, Review and Oxford stores is expected to take place by Christmas.

Highpoint marketing manager Merline McGregor described the new stores as "a fantastic addition to the centre’s dynamic fashion portfolio" and "further proof that Highpoint is serious about bringing great retail experiences to the [western and north western] region".

Over the coming year, Highpoint planned to focus on the improvement of its fashion, lifestyle and entertainment offer to meet growing demand from local shoppers, she added.

Complementing its enhanced retail offering, Highpoint would also roll out an extensive fashion program to mark the introduction of the spring season, with the inaugural event comprising the transformation of Highpoint's central stage into a visual tribute to the Ascot Races scene in iconic film “My Fair Lady”.

Featuring Highpoint’s newest designer recruits including Country Road, French Connection, Sportscraft, Saba and Oroton, the stage would also provide a forum for "How to Cause a Flutter at Highpoint" fashion workshops, with attendees promised personal style direction from Australia’s leading brand buyers, designers and stylists, McGregor confirmed.
