High Street fashion chain Sportsgirl has continued to ramp up its online retail arm.
Digital agency Citrus has implemented a new shopping feature on the brand’s website, allowing consumers to buy products while browsing other sections of the site. Citrus chief executive Peter Noble said the ‘Shop Anywhere’ technology will “revolutionise” the way consumers shop online.
“It socialises the online shopping experience by enabling shoppers to ‘talk’ and shop at the same time,” he said. “Shoppers can maintain their shopping cart outside the [online retail store] and move back and forth between the shop and [Sportsgirl] community sites without losing anything.”
For instance, consumers can read a Sportsgirl blog post about summer fashion, click on an image of a featured item and add it to their cart without leaving the blog. A pop-up window will appear which allows them to select the size, colour and quantity of their purchase.
Sportsgirl’s online community currently includes blogs, forums, vlogs, vox pops and links to its social networking pages on Twitter and Facebook. According to Citrus, Sportsgirl is the first Australian retailer to offer the ‘Shop Anywhere’ feature on its website.
