Sportscraft knits
NATIONAL: Sportscraft has announced the release of a new knitwear collection. Dropping in stores this month, the Kristy Knits Collection is designed in collaboration with brand ambassador, supermodel Kristy Hinze. The range would combine the "classic, relaxed aesthetic of Sportscraft" with Hinze's personal style, a spokesperson confirmed. It includes three knitwear styles, available exclusively from Sportscraft stores and Myer and David Jones' concessions and priced between $170 and $230.
Helly and Blue
MELBOURNE: Scandinavian outerwear brand Helly Hansen has renewed its contract with local company Blue Rock as its distribution partner for the Australasian market. Blue Rock would be key to driving sales of the Helly Hansen range throughout Australia and New Zealand. Blue Rock has also appointed Craig Ryan as general manager for Helly Hansen - Australia and New Zealand. Previously Ryan was responsible for successfully building the Columbia Sportswear and Mountain Hardwear brands across Australasia, where he served as managing director of distribution company Outdoor Performance. Prior to that he was brand manager for Arthur Ellis Pty and sales manager for Puma's apparel division.
Seeing is believing
NATIONAL: Eyewear company Dragon Alliance has introduced what it believes is the first line of environmentally friendly sunglasses even sold in Australia. The brand teamed with high profile surfer Rob Machado on the range which is crafted from 100 per cent sustainable materials. The range, which offers 100 per cent UV protection also features a Grilamid frame material, six base polycarbonate lens and five barrel stainless steel hinge. The collection is available instore now and priced from $180 with $5 from each paid sold going to non-profit organisation SurfAid International.
Mockshop in Aus
NATIONAL: Software specialist Metiri Mensus has announced the introduction of shop floor "mock-up" software Mockshop to Australia. A virtual reality tool that allows fashion retailers to build interactive 3D stores, Mockshop was designed to produce store plans, merchandising directives and design perfect shopfloor layouts. Developed by UK based company VR Software, the software claims to be the market leader in visual merchandising solutions, with clients including La Senza, Adidas, Tommy Hilfiger and Columbia Sportswear.
