NEWCASTLE: Westfield's plans to turn its Kotara site into a fashion hub has paid off with nearly 40 fashion brands securing space at the site.
Since revealing its $170 million facelift at the end of September, the shopping centre has proved a bit of a magnet to fashion retailers with the majority of stores - 25 in all - choosing the site to make their Newcastle debut. These include shoe chain Nine West, womenswear retailers Veronika Maine and national chains Sportscraft and Country Road.
Other fashion brands to open at the centre include Swarovski, David Lawrence, Oroton, Maggie T, Industrie and Mimco.
The redevelopment, which gained council approval in December 2004, took around a year and a half to complete.
