SYDNEY: High-end couture jewellery label Manik Mercian has been commissioned to provide pieces in the Victoria's Secret runway show in New York for the third consecutive year.
The Sydney-based label, which first took part in the lingerie extravaganza in 2005, is busy creating 15 seperate pieces - transformed into at least eight different looks - for the November 15 show.
Founder Jenny Manik Mercian said while she could not reveal too much about what would be on display at the event, the standout piece was expected to be a dress adorned with Swarovski crystals.
The pieces created for the Los Angeles-based show would retail for between $1000 and $150,000 apiece.
Mercian, whose pieces have been worn by such big names as Tara Banks, Gisele Bundchen and Heidi Klum, said being invited to design pieces for the show had been of enormous assistance in getting her brand in front of a broader audience.
"Every year more and more people take notice of the brand and my couture custom-made pieces are being appreciated and noticed."
Mercian, who hangs back stage for the fittings, said as a direct result of the shows - televised throughout the world - she had made pieces for celebrities including singers Mary J Blige and Mariah Carey.
Since launching her label in 2003, Mercian has also worked with a host of well known Australian designers including Gabrielle Scarvelli, Terry Biviano and Jayson Brunsdon.
Mercian leaves for Los Angeles on November 9.
