Bizwear gets busy with DIMA

MELBOURNE: Corporate Apparel specialist Bizwear has clinchd a substantial deal for the supply of a new corporate clothing range to the Department of Immigration and Multicultural Affairs (DIMA).
The deal would see some 6000 DIMA employees supplied with a new look uniform designed to reinforce a professional and trustworthy image for the department, confirmed Bizwear CEO Alan Sutton.
"The over-riding theme is charcoal classic suiting for men and women, as well as shirts and blouses. There is also a workwear or occupational field services component," he said, adding a significant portion of the garments would be made in Australia.
Sutton described the DIMA win as the "culmination of hard work by all of Bizwear's employees and the on-going support from Bizwear's customers, who continue to grow and support its efforts to lift the bar in quality and service".
DIMA joined a significant list of major government accounts for Bizwear, including Australian Quarantine and Inspection Services (AQIS) and Vic Roads, Sutton said.
Meanwhile the company's private sector clients included high-profile brands such as chemist group Amcal, automotive specialists Holden, Ford and Mazda, security company Chubb, women's gym group Fernwood and operations management specialist Transfield Services.
Established in 1993, Bizwear offered project management services to corporate clients, while small businesses requiring a stock service range and the flexibility of smaller orders had the option of dealing with its franchise network of Bizwear stockists.
Bizwear's corporate wardrobe solution was designed to communicate a strong message about clients' organisations, assist customers in identifying staff members and give employees a sense of belonging and team spirit, said Sutton.
The company's current success could largely be attributed to high profile businessman Geoff Lord, who acquired it as an financially troubled entity in 2003, giving it the backing of his Belgravia Group corporation.
"Since Geoff Lord acquired Bizwear it has continued to grow as well as maintaining all its existing accounts," said Sutton, adding the DIMA win - which had triumphed over stiff competition - was proof of Bizwear's "excellent product design and the financial strength of the company and parent group".
