Holden revs up menswear at Target

Petrol heads everywhere are now able to spend 24 hours a day in their Monaro or Torana... satin boxer shorts.
Australian Horizons - the apparel, accessories and footwear arm of diversified company Funtastic, which holds the license for Holden apparel - has geared up for Christmas with the release of a Holden men's underwear and sleepwear range developed exclusively for value department store Target.
Available nationally across Target's 250-strong retail network, Funtastic brand manager Alisa Kerr said Monaro and Torana satin boxer shorts would retail at $20, loose knit boxers - available in black or red - were priced at $15 while a Holden pyjama set in black and white would set customers back $30.
The move follows the successful launch of Holden outerwear through Target in May.
Funtastic general manager marketing Belinda Payne said the response to the Holden range had exceeded expectations on all fronts.
"We were amazed by how strongly the outerwear range sold this year, so we have high hopes for the underwear and sleepwear range. We originally thought it might attract a younger market, but it seems children who are able to fit into adult clothes as well as men in their forties and fifties have been buying the product."
The range would be supported through Target's proprietary catalogue as well as point of sale material developed by Funtastic, she said.
"This year we're also mainly targeting publicity opportunities but will be looking at major promotional possibilities later on."
