Melbourne Watch Company has unearthed a suprising statistic in a data dive.
“Our data shows that year to date women have made up for just over 25% of our overall sales,” said founder Sujain Krishnan.
Since 2013, Melbourne Watch Company’s primary focus has been creating watches for men.
However, the finding has led the brand to also introduce a slimmer fitting Flinders Heritage style.
“Whilst the Flinders Heritage isn’t a women’s model specifically, we feel that it makes a great unisex style given the popular 40mm case size and slim profile," Krishnan said.
The Flinders Heritage Modern Rose is also proving popular with its rose gold-plated case material, white dial and classic blue hands.
“We can safely say that the Modern Rose has outperformed the other styles, making up 35% of Flinders Heritage sales so far,” Krishnan said.
The Flinders Heritage watch styles retail for $450 AUD and are available to be shipped locally or internationally.
The company operates a dedicated showroom in Carlton and has stockists across Sydney, Singapore, California, NY and the UK.
The brand will also be popping up at this year’s Worn & Wound WindUp Watch Fair in New York.
