Australian swimwear and athleisure brand The Upside has partnered with R U Ok to raise awareness for mental health issues in time for R U Ok Day.

From R U Ok Day on September 12 to October 12 The Upside will donate $10 from each sale of its muscle tank to the R U Ok Organisation.

The Upside founder and creative director Jodhi Meares said that the R U Ok initiative helps to normalise and remove the barriers to communication about mental health issues.

"As a long-time supporter of Mental Health Awareness it is so wonderful to see that these issues are being brought of the dark.

"Communication is the universal solvent, making it more acceptable for people to speak up and receive the support they desperately need.

"The contemporary approach to mental health, is now much more holistic in recognising that a healthy lifestyle is central to keeping a balance between mind, body and spirit – a fundamental way to assist your wellbeing," she said.

The muscle tank is avaiable in multiple colours for both men and women and donations will be made from both purchases made at the physical stores and online store.

The women's muscle tank retails for $99 while the men's retails for $89.
