Uniqlo has confirmed it will open its Westfield Chermside store on October 5.

The store will launch the highly anticipated Nintendo UT t-shirts for the first time in the southern hemisphere.

The line will be available exclusively at Chermside on opening day before launching nationally on October 6.

It is the culmination of a global design competition which saw over 16,000 design entries inspired by Nintendo.

Mario creator Shigeru Miyamoto then selected 25 finalists who worked with Uniqlo to bring the designs to life.

The opening will mark Uniqlo's 13th store in Australia.

Uniqlo Australia COO Kenji Tsuju said the store will span 792 sqm and create 50 jobs for locals.

It will be the fourth store for Queensland.

"Our growth strategy across Queensland has been a key focus and priority for the business since we opened our first store in Brisbane in 2015," he said.

The site will open for trade at 10am.
