Uniqlo Australia has announced two new sites due to open during Autumn 2019 to continue its national expansion.

One store is set to open in Westfield Hornsby in New South Wales and the other at The District Docklands in Victoria.

The store at Westfield Hornsby will span 923 square metres, whilst The District Docklands will occupy 808 square metres – with a joint headcount exceeding 100 jobs.

A full line-up of its LifeWear apparel for men, women, kids and babies will be on offer at both locations.

Uniqlo Australia's chief operating officer Kensuke Suwa said the brand's success in the market will continue in 2019.

“During 2018, Uniqlo has continued to grow its retail footprint in the Australian market, and we hope to keep the momentum going in 2019 as our expansion continues.

“The opening of our sixth site in New South Wales at Westfield Hornsby and seventh site in Victoria at The District Docklands demonstrates our commitment to extending our LifeWear message to all Australians by offering exemplary customer service and high quality products at an affordable price.”

Scentre Group's Leasing and Retail Solutions' director John Papagiannis said Westfield Hornsby is thrilled to be welcoming Uniqlo to the centre as part of its ongoing strategy to evolve the retailer product offering for its customers.

“The opening of a new Uniqlo store in the Westfield portfolio demonstrates the strength of our retailer partnership and we look forward to working with the team at Uniqlo as their national expansion continues.”

The District Docklands' CEO George Karabatsos also welcomed the retailer's launch.

“Uniqlo's arrival further demonstrates the evolution of The District Docklands as an urban village and an important part of Melbourne's leisure, lifestyle and retail tapestry.”

The two new stores will take the retailer's store count to 18 in Australia.
